The museum is considered one of the most important in Portugal as it is home to stunning works of European art and sculpture spanning from the 11th to the mid-20th century. The main gallery is only enhanced by the special exhibits, which include paintings by Francesco Guardi, 18th and 19th century English paintings, and a superb collection of jewels and glass by René Lalique.
Aside from the incredible works on display, the museum itself stuns by using its innovative structure to fuse nature and art, resulting in a sensational experience for the visitor.
